Event Details

Join us as for breakfast and a great discussion on Health Reform and Its Impact on Health Care Providers and the Business Community. The goal of this event is to provide education to our local community on the current hurdles that exist for health care providers, gaps that exist in health care delivery, discuss what all of this health care reform really means to the business community and share best practices on building great leadership teams in changing times.

We have assembled a panel discussion which will be moderated by Bob Gillett, Executive Director of Legal Services South Central Michigan which is a regional program providing free legal assistance to low income persons in civil legal cases. Bob is a community representative to the Washtenaw Health Plan board and has served as chair of that board since the health plan was incorporated in 2001. Along with Gillett, other panelists include:

  • Kathleen Griffiths, President and CEO, Chelsea Community Hospital (CCH) will share her thoughts of why the CCH merger with Saint Joseph Mercy Health System makes good business sense and how this fits in with Healthcare Reform.
  • Lakshmi Halasyamani, MD, Vice President, Quality & Systems Improvement, Saint Joseph Mercy Health System will discuss why Packard Health’s business model works in delivering healthcare to the insured, uninsured and under-insured, alike.
  • Marianne Udow-Phillips, Director, Center for Healthcare Research & Transformation, a non-profit organization designed to promote evidence-based care delivery, improve population health, and expand access to care will reveal her thoughts on what Healthcare Reform means.
  • Robert Pasick, PhD, Psychologist, Executive Coach and Founder of Leaders Connect will highlight core competencies of leaders who have built successful teams during difficult times and why this is important to healthcare providers, too.
